At 29 months and 17 days old
What a journey so far! It's really not easy to raise a child but I love every moment of it. Well, 99% of the time. Reese has been very difficult lately. Terrible two I guess! :) He will not want to go change, brush his teeth or even letting us take off his diaper!
Whenever it's time for these things, he will hop on to the bed and hide at the far end or will run/jump on the bed making it so hard to catch him! When we do catch him, he will scream and whine and kick..... then the crying and tantrum.... hai... it is so tough these days... he just want to do things at his own timing. As long as we do not force him into anything.. he is an angel. How? I was so frustrated last evening that I smack his thigh once (so ashamed and guilty). I have vowed not to use force but my anger and frustration took over me. I have been shouting and yelling alot at Reese. I really don't know what to do. It's getting hard to control him. Hopefully it's only a phase.

from the look of him, not much changes ler. still look like that! hahahahaha.. patience my friend. i have yet to reach that stage, so all i can say is, be patient. :)
Merryn,
He looks differentlah... and definitely more naughty!! I am being super patient!!!! :)
a smack or two is ok lah... as long as not breaking their bones... haha. Ziyi can be very unobedient too last time. Occasionally I do smack her on the butt.
Hubby wanted to keep a cane, after advice from my mother, I object of keeping one at home. When one lost temper, we couldn't estimate the consequence of our action. To adult, it could just be a light smack, but to little kids, it might hurt a lot.
I do apologize to her after smacking... and ask her please do not be naughty next time.
Luckily.. she is calmer lately.
he is really a gift from God.. His creations are unique and special..
dont worry, boys are easier to take care of than girls.. haha..
speaking from experience, ME!
Hey, he's looking more and more like his daddy, ya?
Yes, it's a phase until they reach about 4!!
That's quite a magic age when they suddenly become quite grown-up and reasons with you a lot, good and bad. Hahaha...
OHMYGOD its like u were writing what is in my head!!!
gibran is going through this exact stage! want to change diaper.. wanna go downstairs... have dinner... brush teeth... take a bath.... he'd jump away and onto the bed or couch to run and hide frm me! it drives me completely up the wall (esp. since with my spine i cant even chase him or lift him!). so there i'd be screaming and shrieking for him and for the maid also to come and pleaseee help me.. and at the same time trying to fight for self-control and not give in to the strong urge to smack the heck out of him!!
will it really be a phase..??!! i hope so. :(
Linda,
I know it's ok for a smack or two... but it hurts me so much and sometimes it's really out of anger you know what I mean? so I don't want to smack. :) Thanks.
Reanaclaire,

BabyBooned,
Dear....just hang in there..at least we know we are not the only one going thru this stage... :) we can rant all we want online.... hehe..
dont worry dear, i guess this is a phase and furthermore i think boys are more naughty ya? :p
Kristie,
I really hope it's only a phase... :)
Ryan was exactly like that when he was Reese's age 6 mths ago and is still like that...! The only way that works for me is to play reverse psychology on him.I will tell him things like if you don't brush your teeth, then you will have germs in your mouth and the 'cicak' will come and kiss you tonight. Or if you don't wear your diaper, so...how? you will urine everywhere and then it will be dirty and smelly."
