We went to BookXcess yesterday and came back with some books! Reese's little library is growing. If you are looking for some good general knowledge books for kids (not too complicated) then now is the time to go BookXcess. They have about 3 different series for children (5-12 years old) on general knowledge. We bought the 'I Wonder Why' series (they have about 10 books out of xx books in this series). RM12.90 per book. They also have '100 Facts' books about pyramids, planet earth and etc. There is another series... can't remember the name. Oh, they also have some Reader's Digest compilation books on some interesting topics. Better go now before these books go out of stock.

My Ambition is.....
About 2 weeks ago, while playing with Reese, I asked him what he wanted to be when he becomes an adult. He very confidently told me he wanted to be a teacher like me! :)
A few days ago, my father-in-law told me Reese wanted to be a teacher like me. He wanted to teach children.
My son is growing up.....
I vow to be a parent that will allow my child to choose his career without much interference. As long as he is happy and enjoys his work and able to support himself then it is good enough. I don't need him to be a professional or a successful business man. I want him to enjoy his life and perhaps able to contribute to society in a meaningful way.

Fever and Myalgia
Reese had his first fever for this year and it was bad. Fever was up and down since Saturday and lasted till yesterday afternoon before it was gone completely. Fever was very high with the highest being 39.5 Celsius. He behaved very well. Took his medication without a fuss.
This morning, when he woke up, he complained of pain on one of his calf. Then an hour later it was both the calves. We got worried. It was so painful that he can't even stand let alone walk. Poor baby. We took him to the pediatrician and she did a thorough check on him. He was diagnosed with a condition call Myalgia (Muscle pain due to viral fever). So there is basically nothing much we can do except to give him some paracetamol and wait for the muscle to heal on its own. *sigh*

Mummy come back and love you...
An email from my in-laws:
Hi Adrian and Florence,
We think Reese is starting to miss both of you. For the last 2 days he
has been repeating "Mummy come back and love you" (meaning love him)
and he said this with slightly teary eyes.
Just to let you know.
Love
Mum and Dad
I am feeling so sad now... really miss my dear Reese.
CAN'T WAIT TO GO HOME AND HUG HIM!!!

As my child grows older...
As he walked confidently towards the fountain without looking back....
Met some kids and he smiled at them....
Saw a little girl and affectionately tried to hold her hands...
When he saw rejection... he tried to hug her...
When that failed too he went to another older girl who happily accepted him...
They played together...
They laughed together...
They had fun for a good 30 minutes...
My son enjoys playing with other children and it is getting more apparent that he wants company...
He is bored being alone... :)

Next year we will let him attend the playgroup kindergarten so that he will have more friends and he can polish his social skill. Even though I am homeschooling him, it is essential that he has friends and what I like about this playgroup kindy is that it only runs 4 days a week for 3 hours daily. Very small group, only about 12-13 kids (ages 3-6) with 2-3 teachers. They do not push children to excel in academic but rather let them learn at their own pace and learning through play. Reese is familiar with all the teachers and the surrounding. I know the teachers as well. I think it' going to be great for him! Can't wait for him to start in January....

New Pets

Before Reese was born, we have some lovely hamsters (at one time close to 20!) and we spent alot of money on cages and tunnels for our fury pets. We also had two turtles. It kept us occupied and we love it. Then I got pregnant and we were told these little pets might not be good for me and baby. So as the pregnancy progresses, we gave the hamsters away to friends and we let the turtles go at the lake in Lake Gardens.
We bought an aquarium when Reese was about 1 plus thinking that he would like watching the fishes and hubby and I can enjoy the fishes too. But due to taking care of Reese and for reason unknown to us , all the fishes died. So we decided to stop raring fish!
Sometime last year, we tried again, restock some fishes and decorated the aquarium. Ever since then, Reese has been enjoying the fishes, watching them swim, watching them eat and everyday without fail, he will ask his daddy to feed fish 'mum mum' (food).
Then he took an interest in turtles. Last week we bought him two green turtles and now every morning and evening, he will feed them and watch them. It's fun for him and hopefully he will learn a thing or two about pets. ;)

Mummy Sick...
Mummy is sick and daddy didn't allow me to disturb her, didn't allow me to jump on her and didn't allow me to play with her. I keep seeing a bottle of 'medicine' (100Plus) next to mummy.
Mummy is always lying down on the sofa or the bed and kept sleeping or just staring at me and smile with a pitiful face.

I learn a new word though. It is 'Sick'. I don't think I understand the word 100% but roughly. I kept saying "Mummy sick, mummy drink medicine". I think I miss playing with mummy. Daddy was having a hard time stopping me from disturbing mummy. :)
Mummy loves it when I go near her and just put my face close to her and keeps calling her and giving her the sweetest smile and that is also the time mummy realized that I am getting fat! Mummy made a mental note to reduce my milk intake... hehe...
Hopefully mummy get well soon.
