Reese in Action...

Moments like this is magic! We've never seen Reese draw a castle with this much detail. Have a look...all the random strokes, just like how a real castle should be. Except that this one was cooked up in his dreams.

An imaginary castle. The windows are covered in stained glass. This was done tonight at 6 years 1 month old.

For the past month or so, Reese hadn't really drawn anything in detail. Mostly sketches and scribbles. This came as a darn good surprise. :) The most detailed castle ever.

Reese was featured in The Star

Last Wednesday, Reese was featured in The Star paper. We were quite surprised that they generously gave him 2 full pages. :)

If you have not read, you can read it online : http://parenthots.com/features/Strokes-of-a-gifted-child.aspx

Now, we are hoping Reese will be holding his first solo exhibition REAL soon!

Universiti Putra Malaysia - Farm Visit

Our 2nd field trip this week. Yesterday we visited UPM to one of its farm. It was a very educational and Reese and I had a great time despite the heat! The staff were really nice and they even prepared lunch for us. City folks like us hardly have a chance to get dirty and learn about farming. So I was really grateful that we went for this field trip. The children planted some plants, learned some techniques along the way. They visited a small Tilapia fish farm, saw some cattle and even kampung chickens. We enjoyed this field trip very much despite the scorching sun!

Briefing by a really friendly Pakcik...sorry, forgot his name.

Ok..... this week is really crazy, we have 3 field trips in a row! One more to go....

GMI

On Tuesday we visited German-Malaysian Institute in Kajang. We were given a tour of Eye of the Sky exhibition where beautiful satellite images of the earth and its surrounding places were captured. After the exhibition, we were taken to view some final year students' work and other exhibits. Our hostesses and hosts were very friendly and towards the end of the trip, everyone was taught a little German! A group of student even told the story of Hansel and Gretel in German! The children had a great time.
