Toilet Training... almost there...

*SMILES*

We are almost there. Reese is no longer afraid of sitting on the toilet bowl to poo. Big achievement since last week. He is now comfortable doing it there and poo at ease. Phew!

He still pees on the floor aimlessly. Hehehe.... now I still need to figure that out. Thinking of introducing the stool and teach him how to pee into the toilet bowl. Once that is successful and he doesn't dirty his legs then we can try going out without diapers and give the public toilets a shot. Not sure how we are going to tackle that but it's going to be challenging! I can imagine timing his pee and poo time so that when we are at the shopping mall, we will have ample time to dash him to the toilet! :) Anyway... when we make reach that stage, will blog about it then.

Right now, I am happy with Reese's progress. We no longer have to keep reminding him to poo or pee and accidents hardly occurs. So happy now.

Potty Training

Yahoo.... few days back, managed to force him to poo in the toilet bowl! :) I just pin him down with my thighs and hug him really tight. Hehehe... cruel? Nope, my boy is always afraid to try new things but once he tried something and he likes it, he is ok. So after some struggling and protest he actually poo in the toilet bowl and suddenly he was silent and I praised him and told him it's not going to be dirty because the poo went into the toilet! After that I allowed him to flush and he seems happy.

Yesterday I had another opportunity and again I have to force him but he was less reluctant. He didn't poo though just pee. I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel I guess... :)

Looking forward to his next poo session. Haha...

Toilet Training Problems

My boy can tell us when he wants to wee or poo... BUT... the past week he has been crying whenever he needs to poo... He is so afraid of his own poo! Hahahaha....

Ok... it'a actually no laughing matter. How do I convince him to sit on the potty? I have also tried the toilet itself, the moment I try to carry him to sit.. he will struggle and cry. Standing to poo also he kept trying to use his hand to 'get rid' of the poo! or when he poo... he will try to avoid it as much as possible... so how? What can do I???

HELP!

Potty Training update

Ok...... finally I managed to hold Reese's penis and help him to aim! :)

It's weird. Hahaha... I am not used to it and neither is Reese ...but he actually allowed me and that's good. So how did I do it? While he was peeing... I gently told him mummy is going to help Reese wee wee without dirtying his legs... he has been trying to avoid getting his pee on his legs.
First time, I managed to hold but he already finish peeing... hahaha... second time... managed to hold and he pee his last few drops... next time... going to try to hold before he actually pees...

Gosh... this is so weird... so so weird.... the daddy should be doing this! How am I suppose to know which way to hold it and aim it correctly? so weird...so weird...

Once I am successful, I want to try to get him to stand on a stool and help him to pee into the toilet bowl!

This whole wee wee and poo poo business, mmmm it's really not easy... a mother really has to do everything!!

How do you teach a 2+ year old to pee?

Mummies and Daddies,

I have another question, do you help your toddler to hold his birdie to pee?? I don't know what to do... Some of you mentioned about teaching the child to shoot into the potty... so I guess you have to hold it right? I have a feeling Reese will reject my hand if I try.... :) any tips?

Didn't know potty training can be such a challenge.....

Potty Training: I need advice!

Dear mummies and daddies,

Now that Reese knows how to tell us when he needs to go to the washroom.... I have another big problem.

How to get him to pee and poo in the potty?

He refuses to let me put the potty in front of his birdie to 'catch' his pee nor the back to 'catch' his poo... so what now? Every time I bring out the little potty... he will make a big fuss and immediately wants to go out of the washroom.

Every time we go to the washroom it will be a mess. He will pee or poo straight on the floor and we will have to wash him.

I must say he did a great job in telling us, we only trained him for 6 days. :)

What should I do?

Two achivements today!

First achievement

Reese asked to go toilet because he needed to poo poo... but in his actual words he said " Mummy, want to go shh shh" hehehe.... then later in the day he asked Kakak to bring him to the toilet because he wanted to shh shh and he actually urinated. He was diaperless the whole day except for nap time. Had two accidents. Not bad... this is only his 4rd day training and first full day training. I am so proud of my son. Oh... my mother helped me to train him today. :)

Second achievement

Reese had rice for dinner!!! Yes... yes...yes... he ate rice with some yummy meat gravy that my mom made and secretly we added some vegetables in it. I hope he will continue accept different food so that it is alot easier for me to prepare his daily food menu.

Toilet Training

Finally, started toilet training Reese yesterday afternoon. It didn't work. In a span of 2 hours, he wet all three new training pants!!! and also managed to wet a small part of his blanket.

We bought three training pants from Baby loft last weekend. Looks good but kinda pricey. It's RM90+ for 3. We had to because Reese loves to jump on mattresses. We cannot imagine the mess if we don't use training pants which can at least whole 1 pee and less likely to cause a pool of urine on the child's first pee. Yesterday our first attempt. Kept telling him that he will wet his pants if he urinate into his pants. Tell us if he wants to urinate. Of course didn't work. :)

After a good 15 minutes we took him to the toilet and ask him to urinate... he already wet his pants, so wore his 2nd pants and then...gosh... he wanted to play with water and didn't want to come out.... so Reese had a struggle with daddy and when he is out... he said shh shh... daddy got conned. Hahah.... Reese wanted to play with water....no shh shh.... then after a struggle, he throw his major tantrum and cried for a very long time...maybe 10 to 15 minutes. then settle down. phew...

Gave him milk to calm him.... This time... again I kept asking him.. actually very tiring and stressful..... :) After a few rounds... took him to the other toilet..I tried to hold his penis and help him pee into the potty....didn't work... he slapped my hand away... then again wanted to play water...I quickly took him out of the toilet...he protested but it was ok....

Again, kept asking him and finally the 3rd attempt, he followed me to the toilet... while I was trying to take off his pants... he started to urinate...and poor me, his urine spilled into my hands and also his pants... so there goes the second pants.

Again reminded him... he needs to tell.....but really.... it just doesn't work.... So the third and last pants... played on the floor sitting on the blanket... in less than 30 minutes... (been asking every 10 minutes or so) he got up with me and to my horror... he already wet his pants..and it also wet part of the blanket....gggggrrrr....

That's the end of the potty training session for the day. No more pants. Actually I am glad to put on his diaper.... hahha....

About the training pants:

1.It's difficult to wear especially when the kid's thighs are a little wet or damp. Friction makes it harder to wear.

2.It's super difficult to dry! It took 3 days to dry when we first wash it.

3.It's not really effective on Reese. The wetness didn't bother him.

Questions for Mummies:

1. Does your child (boy) stand to pee or sit on the potty to pee?
2. Do you hold his little penis?
3. How do you train your child?
4. Anyone uses training pants like I do?
