New Drawing on a 9x5 feet Wall

Recently we gave Reese  a drawing wall in our new home.  The boy was over the moon and has since been drawing and experimenting. He drew this a few weeks ago. Total hours taken to complete this 9x5 ft wall was 2 hours. This is quite a feat for a 7 year old child!

Updates for August - September

Been super busy.... we will be going to Beijing and Shanghai soon for a break, dealing with house renovation, shopping for the new house, packing and we will be moving house end of next month!!

So many things to write and yet too lazy to do so. A quick update just for memory sake!

Reese decided to go bald....inspired by his dad!

Reese had roti canai with dhal for the 1st time.

Reese had his first tooth extracted and he did not believe the existent of a tooth fairy when the dentist casually mentioned it.

Reese ate a whole bowl of salad!! He made these himself. Reese is a meat eater. Only takes very limited greens. So this is a big step!

First time taking part in a competition. Lego's Build Your World Competition. Too bad, his entry was not selected. Reese built an eco tower.

First time being taught by a real artist from Australia (1 hour) and best of all he actually listen and followed instruction. :)

First time on a local public bus. He was sooooooo happy and excited.

Stuff Reese Knows

This boy of mine constantly surprises us! His general knowledge is great and very often hubby and I can't answer his questions and have to google the stuff he tells us. Just a couple of days ago he said to me:

"Mom, dad's boss is a BOURGEOISIE and dad is a PROLETARIAT." 

?????? I felt so uneducated at that moment. Had to ask my son to explain to me what he meant!

Later in the day he set up a play bank and he talked about capitalism, socialism, communism and then went on to tell me that he used someone's idea of setting up a bank but he did not claimed it to be his idea....so no PLAGIARISM! 

Crazy isn't it??? He talks like an adult! Just out of curiosity, I asked him what is a free market and gosh... he was able to explain to me with examples.

Reese doesn't like to write but prefers to answer everything orally. Since he is still young, I allow it. Few days back, being the last minute mother, I told him that he has a science presentation to do the very next day. I wanted to do some revision on the topic but he said no. So fine..... got him some art block paper and told him to prepare his presentation. He sprang into action and 45 minutes later he showed me a human body with all the necessary organs for digestion to happen and a summary of it. I did not help him except with using the correction pen when he needed it. Check out what he wrote and drew below. Amazing.

While I was teaching a class.... Reese decided to write on the white board and again I was surprised he knew so many famous people and their contribution to society... Oh... see my name? Reese thinks I am famous too. :)

Yesterday Reese did a 'newspaper article'. He called his paper The Star Spangled Paper. He can actually write quite well considering he hardly write anything! Don't you think so?

Few months back we met with a psychologist to have Reese accessed. We were told his general knowledge is equivalent to a 13 year old. How did he do it? Reading books and using the internet. 

Physical Reese

Reese has taken an interest in physical activities. Has been very eager to try and show off his 'skills' in climbing, scooting, parkour and many more. I am glad that he is doing more physical activities.... this boy needs to work on his gross motor skills!

On the 1st Day of Reese's Exhibition

It is more than what we expected from our boy. He was happy, excited and proud of his very 1st exhibition. He was like a perfect host going around talking to shoppers and asking them whether they like his work. He gladly explain his art and then very politely asked everyone to sign his guestbook and be his FAN.

All Set for the Exhibition!

I took Reese over to Bangsar Village 1 to check out the preparation for his exhibition. Oh my, Reese was sooooo excited. He was running around the whole area smiling and laughing. His dream of sharing his work with other children is finally happening. We hope through his work, other children will be inspired to draw and dream!

It was really amusing watching him going around telling others that he is the artist that drew the pictures  on exhibit and when some kids started looking at his art... he asked me whether he has got new fans! :)

Dream Comes True.... 1st Solo Exhibition

Hello everyone,

I have so much to update on Reese and yet I have no time to do so. Hopefully I will soon.... :)

Good news, Reese is finally going to have his very 1st solo exhibition and he will be the youngest artist to do so in Malaysia. 

Do come and support Reese and don't forget to sign his guest book and write a comment or message to him.

There will be 5 lego structures built by Reese and 22 pieces of his art on display. We also donated 2 pieces of Reese's original work for silent auction. All proceeds will go to Bangsar Village Kids' for Kids' Charity Fund. This is your only chance to get an original art work by Reese.
