Toilet Training Problems

My boy can tell us when he wants to wee or poo... BUT... the past week he has been crying whenever he needs to poo... He is so afraid of his own poo! Hahahaha....

Ok... it'a actually no laughing matter. How do I convince him to sit on the potty? I have also tried the toilet itself, the moment I try to carry him to sit.. he will struggle and cry. Standing to poo also he kept trying to use his hand to 'get rid' of the poo! or when he poo... he will try to avoid it as much as possible... so how? What can do I???

HELP!

get back to diapers.. wait for another week, then try again.. slowly. Give him and yourself some time off... my girl started toilet training @ 22 months, and only 99% success @ 32 months. Good luck.

Is it the poo too hard?

My boys, on the other hand are kinda fascinated by poo. hahaha...

Maybe if you talk a bit more about the digestive system and that all living creatures poo, it might make it not so "eeky" to him.

he is disgusted with the poo or he's constipated that is why he cried?

Dear mummies,

Reese is diaperless in the day. He has no problem going to pee. It's only the poo that he hates. He is not constipated either. He just dislike his own poo. :)

If he can, he will try to poo when he is wearing a diaper. I heard of a friend's grandchild will not poo unless he is wearing a diaper! It went on till he was 7 years old. I don't want Reese to be like that.

I will try again to 'catch' his poo today! Hopefully it works. Thank you for your suggestion... will work on in...

Hi.. I am in the same boat as you. Reese still has time..
Ryan already turning 3 still like that. Today I purposely refused to let him wear the diaper to poo. I asked him whether he wanted to poo.He said no... and while I was cleaning the toilet, he poo-ed on the bedroom floor..stood outside the door and waited for me to open the door! haiyah!

Leona,

Use force like me!! It kinda work. Force but gentle on him...keep telling him it's ok..and hug him tight. :)
